From Groentje to Mobster

Your rank follows from your experience. In the game the ranks keep their Dutch names: everyone starts as a Groentje (rookie) and climbs through Meeloper, Loopjongen, Zakkenroller, Dealer, Winkeldief, Dief, Gangster and Spion all the way to Mobster.

A higher rank is more than a title. Some options, such as founding your own family, only open up from a certain rank.

Ranks also come with perks and adjustments, for example to your loot, your waiting time or how long you spend in a cell. Someone high up the ladder really does play differently from a rookie.

Choose your path: Godfather or Drugsbaron

As a Mobster you face a choice you cannot undo: do you become a Godfather or a Drugsbaron, the drug lord? Each path has its own titles and further levels. The side you choose shapes how you make your mark on the underworld from then on.

Attacks, bounties and respect

You can attack other players who are in the same city. You use bullets, and your strength and experience decide who wins. The winner takes part of the loser's cash. New players are protected at the start.

Is someone out to get you? On the most wanted list you put a bounty on a player, and whoever takes them out collects it. Bounties can only be placed on players from the rank of Dief (thief) upwards, so beginners are not an instant target. You can also hand out respect every day to players who deserve it.

You keep your own lists of targets and enemies. Players who fall end up on the list of the fallen, and those who have died can be revived in the hospital.

Rounds

GunMaffia runs in rounds. At the end of a round everyone starts again on the street: your money, rank, family and belongings are reset. That gives every round a fair start, including for those who have only just joined.

Your achievements are kept. Those who finish a round at the top can end up in the Hall of Fame.
